Many of our clients choose a living trust for their estate planning needs. However, this may not be the right choice for those who don’t own real estate, a large bank account or loads of assets. A simple will is probably the best option for them.

If this is the best option for you, choose an executor. This is the person who divides your assets among family and charities. This includes specifying which cherished heirlooms and personal effects go to whom after your passing. Your executor also specifies your preferences about funeral arrangements and disposal of your remains.

When you do not have a will, this is known as intestacy. Many times, this causes more financial problems in the end. So, it is advised that you should always have a will.
